02/2006 - ECFP Pairs Up to Fund Expansion Plans

There were a lot of questions about East Coast Fire Protection ("ECFP") and KRG Capital Partners, L.L.C. ("KRG") in October 2005 when ECFP and KRG partnered together. 06/2003 - Eastern Fire Protection, LLC Purchased by ECFP

ECFP is excited to announce the addition of Eastern Fire Protection, LLC to the ECFP family effective June 11, 2003. Eastern, headquartered out of Atlanta, Georgia but with primary operations in New Smyrna Beach and Jacksonville, Florida and Greenwood, South Carolina, is primarily a residential based fire protection contractor. With operations in eleven states in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, Eastern is a good fit with the nine existing ECFP operations.

Eastern and it's 50 employees will change their name over the near future to East Coast Fire Protection, inc. Led by Robert Guthrie with over 30 years experience, Eastern also has the very capable services of Rich Salen as Design Manager and Michael Patacca, FPE working out of Georgia.

ECFP tries to maintain the residential market as one of the strong legs of ECFP's overall backlog. The addition of Eastern helps to grow the residential side of ECFP's operations towards the optimal mix of work.

05/2003 - Contractor Magazine Names ECFP in Top Ten of Fire Protection Companies in USA

The May, 2003 edition of Contractor magazine marked a milestone for ECFP. Based on 2001 sales, Contractor named ECFP as the sixth largest fire protection contractor in the USA. While it should be noted that major fire protection contractors such as Tyco and the API Group were left out of the list, ECFP is gratified to be recognized among such quality contractors as S.A. Communale.

ECFP also placed ninety-sixth in the broader "Largest Mechanicals" Top 100 list. ECFP's employees should be proud of the recognition of their combined accomplishment.

05/2003 - Southeast Fire Sprinklers Merges Into ECFP

The merger of Southeast Fire Sprinklers, Inc. into ECFP effective 4/30/03 marks ECFP's first acquisition in six years of business. The opportunity to work with the Sanford (Orlando), Florida based company allowed ECFP to feel comfortable making the jump to making an acquisition. Ron Burkett, as Executive Vice President of Southeast and with over 35 years of industry experience; and, Ronnie Burkett as President (with 15 years of industry experience) lead a broad based and sound Florida team. This marks ECFP's first entry into Florida, and ECFP is thrilled to be working with the Southeast team. Southeast will keep it's well known in Florida name, becoming the Southeast Fire Protection, LLC division of ECFP.

03/2003 - ECFP is Covered in the "Source" Magazine

12/2002 - ECFP Teams With Ansul

ECFP is excited to announce a partnership with ANSUL, maker of INERGEN. INERGEN is one preferred fire protection approach for computer rooms and other non-water based fire protection systems. INERGEN features a 10 (yes, that's 10!) year gas replacement warranty if dumped for any reason. ANSUL is working most closely with ECFP's Charlotte, NC and Salem, VA offices. ECFP is proud to work with such a top of the line manufacturer as ANSUL, and this continues ECFP's LIFEGUARD™ "one stop shopping" approach to fire protection.

08/2002 - ECFP Celebrates Fifth Year Anniversary With $60 Million Bonding Line

ECFP celebrated its' fifth year anniversary in August with a $10 million birthday present from CNA Surety. CNA increased ECFP's bonding line to $60 million from the previous $50 million. CNA's confidence in ECFP is one reason ECFP has been able to grow to the top 1% of all fire protection companies. Stay tuned for the next five years!

05/2002 - ECFP Opens 8th Office in Charlotte

ECFP opened it's eighth office in Indian Trail, North Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte, this month. The new Charlotte office fills a gap between existing ECFP operations in Atlanta, Ga. and Raleigh, NC. The new office is led by Doug Troutman with 30 years of industry experience. Charlotte allows ECFP to better serve it's existing Carolinas while having a local design, installation and service capability. ECFP is excited to be in the "Queen City" of the Southeast, and looks for great things from Charlotte.

09/2001 - ECFP Wins Small Business of the Year

ECFP continues to receive honors for our ability to profitably grow by providing a higher level of customer service. The Richmond, Va. Chamber of Commerce has awarded to ECFP the highly coveted 2001 IMPACT award, given to the small business of the year. ECFP is proud to be among the nominees, and thanks our customers, employees and code officials for their support.

06/2001 - ECFP Receives FCI, Protectowire and Spectrex Distributorships

ECFP ECFP announces the addition of three new alarm distributorships that help round out our ability to be a full line fire protection contractor.ECFP has added FCI, Protectowire and Spectrex to our line of distributorships.The Protectowire distributorship helped ECFP land over $1.5 million in new fire protection installations in June! 03/2001 - ECFP Obtains UL Installation Listing

ECFP is proud to announce that our Alarms Division has received UL listing for alarm installations. This coveted certification, along with the ISO-9001 quality certification received in 2000, shows that customers can expect and receive quality installations or service with each ECFP visit. This is just one more reason ECFP is setting the standard for fire protection companies!

06/2000 - ECFP President Named Entrepreneur of the Year

James Toups, President of East Coast Fire Protection, Inc., was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Commercial Services category for the state of Virginia. The EOY program is sponsored by Ernst & Young, NASDAQ and other high profile organizations. Mr. Toups, in accepting the award, stated "This is a testament to the high quality team here at ECFP; I'm proud to receive this award on their behalf". The sponsors were impressed by the high standards ECFP has maintained while profitably growing to over 225 employees.

05/2000 - ECFP is ISO 9001 Certified

ECFP is proud to announce ISO 9001 certification. This international quality certification is only awarded after rigorous testing and measurement of processes by an outside audit firm. ECFP does not know of any other fire sprinkler company which have achieved this high standard for all locations. ISO certification is just one more way (along with a 3 year warranty, consultative services, owner training) ECFP demonstrates it is redefining the quality standard for fire protection installations!

11/1999 - ECFP Announces Gamewell and Chemetron Product Lines

ECFP is excited to become a Gamewell distributor in November, 1999. Gamewell is one of the most respected alarm product lines over the past century. This storied history is being matched by a commitment to product innovation which is seeing new products rolled out on a quarterly basis. Gamewell was impressed by ECFP's commitment to customers shown by a doubling in sales in fiscal year 1999. ECFP plans to assist Gamewell in increasing their penetration by featuring the product as a primary product line. Look for more information soon on the Gamewell product line! ECFP also added the Gamewell special hazards product line over the last quarter. Having this product line allows ECFP to bring complete fire protection solutions to all types of customers. Gamewell's support was instrumental in ECFP's landing of a $500,000 plus job package with a high end customer. ECFP looks forward to working for many years to come with Gamewell.

05/1999 - ECFP Announces Raleigh, NC Office

ECFP has formed a Raleigh, NC, office. With over two score current jobs in process in the Carolinas, ECFP has established a Raleigh office to locally serve our customers in the Carolinas. The office is fully staffed with professionals with over a decade of fire protection experience in the region.
